Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the Koala70 take to deliver?
Indicative lead time is approximately 12 to 16 weeks from payment of the deposit and confirmation that the project is ready to proceed. Timing can vary depending on approvals, production availability, location, site preparation and project-specific requirements.
Is the Koala70 delivered in a shipping container?
No. The Koala70 is delivered as one substantially completed modular home on specialised heavy-transport equipment.
Is the Koala70 a Class 1a home?
The Koala70 is designed as an NCC Class 1a dwelling. Final approval and certification remain subject to the site, engineering, planning requirements and the relevant building approval process.
Do I need a licensed builder?
Yes. Installation and regulated construction work must be supervised or undertaken by appropriately licensed professionals in the relevant jurisdiction. Electrical and plumbing work must also be completed by licensed tradespeople.
What site preparation is required?
The site generally needs to be surveyed, cleared, made accessible and prepared for the engineered footing system. The exact work depends on soil conditions, slope, drainage, access and service locations.
Can the Koala70 be installed on a sloping site?
Potentially. An engineered footing or slab solution will be developed according to the site conditions. Additional site and foundation costs may apply.
Can I customise the design?
The standard design has been developed to provide an efficient balance of cost, quality and buildability. Structural changes are generally discouraged, although finishes, fixtures and selected inclusions can be personalised.
Are the carport and verandah included?
They are available as optional additions and will be separately identified in your project quotation.
Can solar panels be added?
Yes. Solar panels and battery storage can be included as optional upgrades, subject to the project’s electrical and energy requirements.
Will I need a septic system?
A septic or wastewater treatment system may be required where the land cannot connect to a municipal sewer. This will be determined during the site assessment and approval process.
What additional costs could apply?
Possible additional costs include unusual transportation requirements, difficult access, non-standard earthworks, upgraded foundations, extended service connections, bushfire requirements, planning applications, authority fees, septic systems and optional external works.
